The best solution is to redesign the corner cabinet.
Movement Animation
The four-bar linkage is used to pull out the inner shelves. In this way, the corner space is not wasted.
SPECIAL DESIGN FEATURES
T SHAFT & TRIANGULAR BRACKET
In order to easily assemble and disassemble the drawers, the T shaft structure is designed, which is part of the drawer. The triangular bracket is supporting the drawer to prevent high bending moment.


DRAWER WITH ROUND CORNER
When the door is fully opened, since the angle of the door open is not 90 degrees, part of the drawers will prevent users from taking stuffs out from the inner shelves. Therefore, a round corner is designed to expose more space.
WINE SHELF
Since the utilization frequency of the inner cabinet is relatively low, a wine shelf is designed inside.

Personal Contribution, Reflection, Discussion
My personal contributions in this project include the four-bar linkage mechanism design and special features design. All the visualization showcases are created for different purposes in design stages.
In the project, we were going to solve a space wasting problem exiting in common kitchen corners. An inner and outer shelves system by means of four-bar linkage mechanism was a good solution. Then we made the CAD model to demonstrate the idea. The movement animation also shows a lot more details of our design. In the end, three special features were designed to enrich the product.
The animation to show the four-bar linkage working principle is very useful and powerful in the design process. My skills of 3D visualization are improved after this project as well. The future work of this design is to build the physical prototype and customize the outlook of it for different preferences.
